The Nashville opening marks the second time this year that Vitran's U.S. LTL company, Overland Transportation Inc., has expanded its Tennessee operations. A service center was previously opened in Memphis. The opening of the Nashville market further emphasizes Overland's desire to widen its service coverage in an effort to meet the increasing geographic needs of its growing client base.

Rick E. Gaetz, President and Chief Operating Officer of Vitran Distribution Systems, said, "The Nashville expansion is part of Vitran's long-term strategy to broaden its U.S. LTL geographic coverage through internal growth and acquisitions. Our Nashville operation will allow us to expand our on-time service coverage within the U.S. Midwest and into the Southern Midwest region."
